10 Most Bizarre Stories From Former WWE Superstars

7. Uncle Elmer's Marriage

Weddings in the WWE are a fairly commonplace occurrence. However, the one time a WWE performer actually got married for real in a WWE ring is so bizarre by comparison to the marriage of a couple nearing divorce (Savage/Elizabeth), the marriage of a woman allegedly carrying a demon's seed (Kane/Lita), a marriage interrupted by a man having drugged the bridge and married her the night before (Test/Stephanie) and a same sex marriage interrupted by Samoan thugs (Billy/Chuck), that it bears mentioning.

On an October 1985 episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, Stanley "Uncle Elmer" Frazier legitimately married longtime girlfriend Joyce Stazko, involving a storyline in which Roddy Piper attempted to interfere in the proceedings.

Of course, in the state of New Jersey, the commission wouldn't allow a wedding to occur if it were not legitimate, so the nuptials between the two were legitimized in order to allow the story to take place. A bizarre ceremony to watch because it set the template for all other WWF/WWE weddings that followed, the fact that there's an actual justice of the peace presiding makes in incredibly bizarre.
