3. Ronda Rousey Will Leave

Ronda Rousey clearly loves this.

Wearing a genuine smile on the way to the ring, she is not content with being Brock Lesnar’s female equivalent. Aside from performing with an intense and awesome legitimacy, she is in many ways his antithesis: she turns up most weeks, and has shown a deep commitment to being the best she possibly can at this. And, because she is utterly outstanding at this, her confidence—and passion—is palpable.

Ronda Rousey also showed the first signs of inner turmoil recently. Speaking on her official YouTube channel in November, Ronda in an emotional outburst announced that “she can’t wrestle forever” because she feels like she is “failing” her family. This followed the events of Survivor Series, at which she was unable to mask her disdain for a heckling, ungrateful audience.

Ronda has also made mention of her desire to start a family. Ronda—a doomsday prepper—isn’t merely broody; as the self-described “genetic cream of the crop,” and no, we’re not taking the piss here, she believes that she owes it to the future success of the planet to survive and reproduce.

Through her interaction with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, Ronda has essentially already fulfilled her remit to advance the Women’s scene to the highest heights—which might see her return a few years later, in a part-time capacity, to reclaim her throne.
