10 Booking Steps For Kenny Omega As IWGP Heavyweight Champion

5. Wrestle Kingdom Love Story

Kenny Omega
NJPW

Like their G1 Climax classic but even better, Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi will steal the show in the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, with 'The Best Bout Machine' evening the score against the 'Golden Star' in their current series whilst inadvertently driving a further wedge between the beloved duo.

Promising and delivering a match which lives up to their grandiose pledges made about the brave new future of professional wrestling, the contest will be loaded with callbacks to their legendary battles together and apart in DDT as well as the most recent chapter of their story within New Japan.

The contest will reflect the mainstream reach New Japan has achieved under Omega's stewardship - much like with recent TakeOver specials, noted Kenny inspirational figure Stone Cold Steve Austin will be front row for the battle, whilst general modern day wrestler saviour Diamond Dallas Page will flog his Scott Hall/Jake Roberts-proof yoga to a new generation of legends in need of emotional and physical salvation.

Omega - at this point substantially more experienced on one of the industry's biggest stages - will have the tools to prevail in a way that simply weren't accessible during their G1 clash. Kota's momentum in the tournament as well as his unlikely determination to topple Omega at the time will no longer be enough despite his dormant desperation to take the IWGP Heavyweight Title.

Kenny Omega will be the man Kota Ibushi loves most, but will more importantly be The Man at Wrestle Kingdom.
