10 Booking Steps For Turning Bray Wyatt Into A New Undertaker

1. Everyone In WWE Must Be Genuinely Afraid Of Him

Remember when Asuka approached Emma at NXT TakeOver: Respect and she looked away, somewhat nervous about even making eye contact with the new wrestler? That€™s the sort of subtle storytelling that Bray Wyatt needs: he needs to be feared by everyone on the roster, so much so that even speaking his name would make other wrestlers show genuine concern about being in the ring with him. Right now, Bray Wyatt€™s being presented as nothing more than a long-bearded guy with a unique worldview. He needs to be more than that; he needs to have the other wrestlers on the audience be genuinely scared of him, in the same way that other WWE Superstars would show fear of having to wrestle the Undertaker (or even Kane). Remember when Teddy Long would threaten wrongdoers on SmackDown with a match against the Undertaker, or how Bischoff would punish his enemies with a match against Kane? The audience loved these situations because both of them were continuously presented as dominant forces that the WWE locker room was afraid of facing. Presenting Wyatt in this manner would suggest to the audience that he€™s a highly credible threat. By selling everything about Wyatt, from his entrance to his finishing move, as something terrifying that no one wants to experience, it would really show the audience that he€™s a big deal.
