Few could have foreseen the WWE return of Maryse recently. She's being used as a heater for her real-life husband, The Miz, and helped him become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Again, it's baffling that creative decided to strip the title away from the Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn feud, but it does provide something for Miz to do.
At Payback, he will defend the Intercontinental gold against Cesaro. Few would be upset if the 'Swiss Superman' managed to bag the title on that show, mainly because people have been striving for that workhorse babyface champ ever since Daniel Bryan sadly had to give up the secondary strap.
Come Raw, The Miz could host an edition of Miz TV. Teasing that he's going to interview Cesaro, he'd actually bring out Maryse. Nothing especially fancy has to happen during this segment, it'd be mere heat building for Miz and his woman, basking in their supposed celebrity.
Building resentment on The Miz is a shrewd move, because it'd make fans more desperate to see Cesaro topple him.
