10 Booking Steps For WWE Raw (June 6)
Raw could be the perfect time for an off-the-wall main event...
Last week's segment involving Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins was severely lacking. Excuses can be made about Monday Night Raw falling on the Memorial Day holiday in the United States, but the fact is that WWE have a pay-per-view to promote. Money In The Bank is just a few weeks away, and the WWE Title match needs better hype.
By contrast to the Reigns and Rollins debacle, John Cena's return felt impactful due to the actions of AJ Styles. Turning heel and realigning with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, Styles battered Cena and the segment sparkled. Rollins and Reigns could be doing with some of that magic.
That fact could be explored on the coming episode of Raw, with Stephanie McMahon looking to outdo her brother Shane by announcing a huge main event.
Elsewhere, programs for both the WWE United States and Tag-Team Titles must continue to be developed heading into Money In The Bank. It looks like Titus O'Neil will be the top challenger for the former, but he needs more momentum before he becomes a believable foe for Rusev.
Let's look at what WWE might have in store for Monday Night Raw...
10. John Cena Calls Out AJ Styles To Fight Him Like A Man
There's absolutely no way John Cena should be taking what happened to him on last week's show lying down. As soon as Monday Night Raw starts, he should fly out of the traps and look all business. In order for this segment to work, it's utterly vital that Cena doesn't smile, laugh or goof around.
Instead, he must be motivated to get what he wants, a one-on-one fight with AJ Styles. This is the kind of match that's 100% fresh, it's never been done before in WWE or elsewhere. Therefore, the company have to be mindful of that and build to it properly.
In a cool twist, Cena could come armed with a microphone and interrupt his own entrance music. Stating that he's not in the mood for games, the franchise would then say that if Styles has any manhood in him whatsoever, he will come out without Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to face him like a man.
Pacing around the ring, Cena could then be left disappointed, before someone else's music blared over the sound system.
