8. Mex-America Lay Into The Lucha Dragons
Alberto Del Rio marched on to the Quarter Final stage by way of a quite strange outing against Stardust on Smackdown. The out-there Stardust seemed to play babyface during the match, which contrasts heavily with how he's been portrayed on television recently. Whatever the case, Kalisto later defeated Ryback in quite the upset. This sets up Del Rio vs. Kalisto in the next round of the WWE Title tournament. It's highly likely that bout will take place on Monday Night Raw, and it's the perfect chance for Del Rio and Zeb Colter to continue their diatribes about Mex-America. Recently, Colter has been banging on about the need for union between North America and Mexico, and Kalisto is a Lucha Libre kind of performer. Therefore, during his entrance, it'd make sense for Del Rio to ambush him and make an example out of Kalisto. By then beating him in rapid fashion, Alberto would be making a statement. Having Colter talk politically through the bout may only enhance things too, making it a unique match that furthers the hypocrisy of the heels.. Not every single tournament clash needs to be super-competitive, there's room for character development there too.
