After the seriousness of their feud against The Wyatt Family, The New Day have returned to the comedy trail for a rivalry with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The Club have even pretended to be everything from doctors to those aiding the elderly in plans to retire. Last week, this led to the introduction of 'The Old Day'.

Without being too harsh, the segment didn't hit the right notes. Fans were audibly bored by the whole thing, and those involved struggled to keep a lid on the in-ring skit. Even New Day themselves failed to turn it into anything worthwhile.

This week, that could be used to WWE's advantage. As The Club attempt more shenanigans, it's actually Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston who remark that it's time to get serious. After all, the Raw Tag-Team Titles are on the line at Clash Of Champions, and nobody will be laughing when they're getting punched in the mouth or smacked around the ring.

For the first time since Woods questioned his buddies about Bray Wyatt, New Day showing some sincerity would add legitimacy to the feud that's currently lacking.
