Better known as former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus, this would have been a near impossible thought in previous years. It was an established unwritten rule that the WWE were simply not interested in signing anyone who were previously identified with TNA, hence the reason why a man as talented as AJ Styles has never appeared in the promotion. However, the signings of Sting and Samoa Joe, as well as the appearance of James Storm at the most recent NXT tapings, is a clear indication that the landscape has changed. Aldis made his start at WAW and All Star Wrestling, learning the ropes from more experienced opponents along the way. A run on TV show Gladiators established his entertainment and promo credentials and Aldis became a regular with TNA for seven years, winning the World Heavyweight Championship in 2013 and turning heel in the process. Aldis is a man with plenty of top level experience, along with the classic WWE size, standing 63 and weighing 240 lbs. He is now aligned with Jeff Jarretts Global Force Wrestling and is the star attraction of a forthcoming two-date UK run for the fledgling promotion. Aldis is engaged to fellow wrestler Mickie James and the couple have a young son together, so there are no visa issues for the WWE to worry about, unlike other British stars. Could Aldis want to make the jump to the WWE for financial security? He ticks all the boxes for a WWE star, and with the political landscape changing in the WWE, now could be the time for him to make the move.
