The perfect middle ground between the hyper-athleticism of PWG and the story-heavy heavyweight style of WWE? Heady praise, but Harper vs. Dijakovic isn't far away. For a seemingly throwaway match on a throwaway show, these two big boys fought as if everything was on the line, a frustratingly indicative example of the Sisyphusian nature of WWE.

Put on a show! Knock it out the park! Grab the brass ring, break through the glass ceiling! Harper and Dominik Dijakovic did that and more with this match at 2019 Worlds Collide show, going toe-to-toe in an 11-minute banger that gave a glimpse of the talent that WWE was happy to leave on the bench. Harper picked up the victory, but not before teetering dangerously close to the edge of defeat.

In the end, it was all for nought. This was Brodie Lee's last televised singles match in WWE, coming a full six months before his eventual release. The ship had likely already sailed by this point but Brodie was still willing to put it all out there, helping to bring along a younger talent with him.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
