If youre looking to punish someone who happens to hold a title, one way to do that is put them in a match where they can lose their championship. Also, if youre looking to boost sagging ratings, one way to do that is hold a championship match. Given that both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose hold titles, it wouldnt be that far of a stretch to see one or both of them put their titles on the line at the Authoritys insistence in an attempt to punish them. It also wouldnt hurt ratings if you knew going into Raw that the Intercontinental Championship or WWE World Heavyweight Championship would be up for grabs later in the night. There is always a chance that the Tag Team Championships could be on the line (though not likely since New Day just defended them on Smackdown last week). But we know that United States champion Alberto Del Rio will face the man he beat for the title, John Cena. While it hasnt been announced as a title match, that would be one way to hook viewers.
