10 Candidates For WWE Hall Of Fame 2016 Warrior Award

4. Mark Yeaton

Mark Yeaton was the long-standing timekeeper for WWE, but may be known to more people as "the guy that threw Steve Austin his beer". Like several candidates for this year's Warrior Award, Yeaton was well-respected by his peers and was held in high regard by many of the former WWE superstars. In addition to his role as the timekeeper, Yeaton was responsible for ordering and maintaining many of the materials needed for constructing the ring and other logistic operations. Due to his role as the official timekeeper, Mark could often be seen sitting ringside for some of the biggest matches in WWE history, including the infamous Montreal Screwjob. It was Mark Yeaton to whom Vince McMahon notoriously yelled "Ring the f***in' bell!" once Shawn Michaels rolled Bret Hart over into the Sharpshooter. In the other Shawn/Bret match from that era (at WrestleMania XII), Yeaton was the poor guy on the receiving end of one of the more brutal Shawn Michaels' superkicks after Bret moved out of the way. Later on Mark became a cornerstone of Stone Cold Steve Austin's post-match celebrations by accurately launching endless cans of beer at the Texas Rattlesnake, sometimes from nearly 50 yards away. Austin would often have a little fun with Yeaton once the show went 'dark' and was off the air, too. Yeaton was released in 2014 due to budget cuts, but was considered a model employee by a great many of his peers. His career was one that spanned multiple decades - Mark had been a WWE staple since 1984. He should be considered, for thirty years of loyal service (and for possessing a damn fine beer-throwing arm).
