10 Celebrities That Had The Most Influence In WWE History
7. Jay Leno
Regardless of what the critics will and DID say, running a wrestling angle on the set of The Tonight Show was, and still IS a pretty big deal. You have to give all the credit in the world on this one to Eric Bischoff---it was a major coup for WCW at the time. The match that took place at WCWs pay-per view, Road Wild, on August 8, 1998, was set up when Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff took over the set of The Tonight Show, and host Jay Leno used security And Diamond Dallas Page to help escort them from the building. The angle would then lead to a tag match between Hogan and Bischoff vs. Leno and Page. Even though the babies went over---Hulk Hogan selling for Jay Leno---was just UGLY. Either way, the story got mainstream publicity and thats exactly what WCW was seeking at the time.
