10 Changes WWE Will Make Post-Vince McMahon

3. NXT Returning To Its Roots?

Triple H Vince McMahon
WWE

Eyebrows were raised when WWE announced that NXT was rebranding as "NXT 2.0" and going off in a different direction. Top independent stars weren't the priority anymore - Vince's signing policy changed, and Triple H watched his baby go from hotbed of excellent wrestling to just another WWE show.

In fact, worse, it fell below that grade to become full-on developmental.

Christ knows why McMahon did this, or why he thought there was anything wrong with the way NXT was. No, they shouldn't go back to being head-to-head with AEW (the brand took a kicking from Dynamite, being honest), but WWE should really have a long hard think about returning NXT to its roots.

Hunter would relish the chance to promote those classic TakeOver specials again. One need only watch Sami Zayn's appearance on the Steve Austin-led 'Broken Skull Sessions' to see just how big an imprint those bigger NXT events left on everyone at their height.

More of that, please.
