10 Character Changes WWE Completely Ignores Today

1. The Undertaker Is Controlled By The Urn

The Undertaker is the most enduring character in WWE history. Making his debut in 1990, 'The Phenom' has went through many different incarnations. The most recent has been as a man who uses his legendary career and supernatural aura to strike fear into his opponents. Way back in the 90's, Undertaker was ruled by a mysterious force emanating from an urn held by his manager, Paul Bearer. As it would later transpire, Bearer was The Undertaker's father. The contents of the urn were used to give the character power. Whenever the portly manager would hoist the object above his head, 'Taker seemed to draw energy from it. This was used as a plot device several times over the years. Whenever rivals would steal the urn, Undertaker would seemingly lose power. As Bearer began to be moved away from The Undertaker, the gimmick changed. The character didn't rely on the urn whatsoever, and it's barely even been mentioned on WWE television since. When Bearer made his comeback in 2010, he was carrying the item, but it didn't have the same use as before. The Undertaker has shifted into a figure who doesn't need the mystical force to get by.
