10. Juan Francisco De Coronado
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urm4rb6mAOQ CHIKARA is a family friendly promotion that takes wrestling back to the good old days, where crowds cheered for the heroes and booed the villains. Even so, crowds can often break out into chants of appreciation for some of the bad guys, out of respect more than anything. With this in mind, Juan Francisco de Coronado is something of an anomaly in CHIKARA. The Ecuadorian Aristocrat is most likely the purest heel on the entire roster. He doesn't fit into the cartoon stylings of the more colourful members of the roster, and he doesn't have the inner conflicts that seem to afflict many of the more complex characters. He is simply a professional wrestler, from Ecuador, who believes he is better than everyone else. As we say here in Serbia, to je to. As such, he is one of the biggest generators of heat at any CHIKARA show, and because of his more 'straightforward' (for want of a better term) character has been able to really grow into it under the radar. He has now become an integral part of the CHIKARA experience.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
