10 Conclusions From WWE Money In The Bank 2015
7. Sheamus Is A Backward Step
Sheamus as Mr. Money In The Bank just feels wrong when you consider how forward-thinking WWE have been in recent times. With a brand new WWE Champion in Seth Rollins and a whole host of new superstars introduced like Neville and Kevin Owens, Sheamus feels like WWE are looking backwards rather than forwards.
Sheamus is a 3-time world champion, yet he still hasn't reached the level of popularity that WWE so clearly feel he should have. With the end of the brand split and the unification of the two world titles, it seemed that Sheamus was firmly planted in the group of former world champs who would never get near the big one again, a group that includes Miz, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler.
There's also the question of what Sheamus can do differently this time around, should he successfully cash-in the briefcase. There's really nothing to suggest that a heel Sheamus as WWE Champion will be any different to the one that we saw against John Cena in 2009. A new haircut and a new theme song will do nothing to disguise the fact that he'll be doing the same old 'kiss me arse, fella' shtick that he's been pulling for years.
