10 Conclusions From WWE RAW (June 15)
8. RAW Is Owens
Kevin Owens is the greatest thing in WWE right now. NXT aside, this was the first opportunity for WWE fans to see what KO could deliver without John Cena stood opposite, and the NXT Champion did not disappoint. There were certainly a number of cheers when he delivered the news that the Cenation Leader was not in attendance, hinting that some members of the WWE Universe may have found their new Voice Of The Voiceless.
Dolph Ziggler accepted Owens' open challenge, though KO was quick to point out to Lilian Garcia (or 'blondie'), that the NXT title was not on the line. The Showoff and Owens put on a clinic with KO pulling out the victory with the Pop-Up Powerbomb, although it will be interesting to see how Owens fares in terms of match quality against opponents with less impressive bodies of work than Cena and Dolph.
Owens even found time later in the show to physically assault Machine Gun Kelly on behalf of every WWE fan who is sick of 'recording artists' hijacking wrestling shows to shill their latest single. Unfortunately, according to Stephanie McMahon, KO will face disciplinary action.
Expect John Cena to plead next week for the proposed US title match between the two to be made for Battleground regardless.
