10 Conclusions From WWE SmackDown (June 11)

WWE can be laugh out loud funny when it wants to be, and when it doesn't try too hard (ruling out anything that calls for the arrival of Ron Simmons). Kane's face was a picture at the start of the main event 6-man tag, as the New Day clapped it up right next to him. Xavier Woods had some extravagant words of encouragement for Kofi Kingston once the match was underway, shouting that his stablemate was "...the greatest of all time!"

But the funniest moment of the show came backstage during the Prime Time Players' interview with Renee Young, when Darren Young (no relation) misunderstood Titus O'Neil's talk about a coming out party. Titus reminded him that his was last year. It deserved the laughter it apparently got from the SmackDown audience. They seemed a docile bunch, though. Hopefully it wasn't canned.

Dean Ambrose, however, fell flat at the start of the show, claiming that his partying in New Orleans had left him feeling like it was still Tuesday. Too cerebral, brother.

As a long-time WWE fan, I have always enjoyed watching men pretend to beat each other up while wearing spandex. Extra points for facepaint, none for tassels. I love all things sci-fi. If there's a 'Star' somewhere in the title, I'll probably dig it. I'm a huge football fan too. For my sins, I support Manchester United.
