On 3 May 2002, Mr. Perfect was teaming with Molly Holly to face Jerry Lawler and Trish Stratus in mixed tag team action in Birmingham, England. The next night, he was wrestling Brock Lesnar. The only problem was, his skirmish with Lesnar was an unsanctioned one, and it took place at 30,000 feet on the infamous Plane Ride from Hell.

Now a staple of wrestling folklore, the Plane Ride from Hell took place at the end of the company’s European tour and was named as such because just about anything that could go wrong, did.

Amongst all the dramas, which included a drunk Ric Flair supposedly exposing himself and Sean Waltman snipping off Michael Hayes’ ponytail, the story goes that Perfect and Lesnar had themselves an impromptu amateur-style wrestling match.

Laying it down in the middle of the aisle, the pair took a tumble into the emergency exit doors before Dave Finlay, Triple H and Paul Heyman were said to have broken up the scuffle.

In the days that followed, Hennig was fired, while the likes of Lesnar, Flair, Waltman and company escaped with their jobs intact.
