10 Craziest Bumps In WWE History

1. "By God, They've Killed Him!" - King Of The Ring 1998

The number one spot couldn't have belonged to anything else. While Foley's second bump (pictured above) has since been established as the one which caused him the most injury - concussing him and knocking a tooth through his lip - it's the first fall which has entered wrestling folklore. The bump is hardly the best-executed on the list; that would probably go to Edge's mid-air spear of Jeff Hardy. It's barely even a good spot. Undertaker simply carts Mick off the top of the cell without much build-up, the poor guy falling entirely without grace onto the Spanish announce table. It almost looks unplanned, so sudden and ugly is the fall, which is of course the reason it's so spectacular. So many elements combine to make this the craziest spot of all time, Jim Ross' now legendary commentary a substantial part of the equation. JR projects real terror - then again, he probably really was terrified - doing his damnedest to convince all of us that Foley was legitimately in danger. The reverse angle is another vital element, a low handheld camera tracking Foley's inexplicable tumble and capturing the sheer impact of his landing. It lives on in countless video packages used by the WWE to this day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hMp65SzyTU It's easy to forget that this was far from the end of the match. Foley suffered that other ridiculous fall through the roof-panel of the cell and still wasn't put away, eventually being put away with a tombstone piledriver (into thumbtacks, naturally). Much like all the bumps in this list, however, the spot itself has outlived the match itself. Crazy bumps are unquestionably dangerous; a wrestler risks his careers every time they agree to one. Before dismissing them, however, we should consider the memories each moment on this list has provided. They give even the most unassuming superstar the chance to etch his name into WWE history forever.
