4. Heyman's Not-So-Hot Tag
Paul Heyman famously doesn't take bumps. He'll get physical every now and again, as witnessed when he took a damn F5 from Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2022, but most of the time Paul E. is happy to just watch on from the sidelines.
That was definitely not the case during a dark match following the 29 October 2021 edition of SmackDown.
Heyman's charges, The Bloodline, were facing off against Drew McIntyre and The Street Profits when Paul decided enough was enough and it was time for a change.
The Special Counsel got up on the ring apron and reached for the tag. The crowd went ballistic for him, which isn't surprising when you consider this episode took place in Pennsylvania, the home state of ECW.
Unfortunately, the Extreme faithful did not witness Paul go on a tear with a kendo stick in this match. It was quite the opposite, as Heyman tripped over almost immediately and then withdrew from the match.
Heyman is a master performer and this incident proves that perfectly. He was able to whip the crowd into a frenzy before delivering the perfect punchline to a gag that suited his character perfectly.
