10. The Raw Set Collapsing On Vince McMahon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MExJ50AgT8w Vince McMahon has done a lot of stunts involving his character over the years. From faking his own death to creating a storyline where he has a bastard son, he's not afraid to push the limits. He also took place in some stunts like when he had the Raw set collapse on him on the June 23, 2008 edition of Raw. It was one of their draft lottery episodes. McMahon had been giving away $1 million per week on Raw for several weeks because they figured it would be great for ratings. It turns out that it only had a minimal effect on ratings and it really wasn't worth all the time they were spending on it. They had to get a way out of the angle, though. They couldn't just say "we are stopping it" so that's why they did the angle with the set collapsing on Vince. At first McMahon had to deal with a piece of the set collapsing, then some explosives went off and Vince was stunned by it, so he went down. After he fell, other parts of the set went down around him and he was trapped underneath it. There wasn't anything that even hit him or came close to it, but they sold it like it was a big deal. Wrestlers huddled around him, including his son in law Triple H and when Vince woke up he called him by his real name "Paul" to sell the idea that this was some real incident. It was a cheesy angle to allow Vince to stop giving money to the fans. It was definitely what you would consider a made for TV storyline.
