When the phrase 'criminally under-rated' is used, many people instantly think of Shelton Benjamin. Yes, he was a 3-time WWE Intercontinental Champion, former US Champ, and a 2-time WWE Tag-Team titleholder but Benjamin was clearly qualified enough to do a lot more. One thing that held Benjamin back was definitely his verbal skills; perhaps the biggest weakpoint to his overall presentation. He looked great, could do things in the ring many others couldn't, and could always be relied on for an entertaining match, but WWE obviously felt he didn't have enough mic talent to sell a big match. Since being released in 2010, Benjamin has produced many a great bout in ROH, and overseas in New Japan Pro Wrestling. And quite frankly, he still has a lot to offer WWEeven if his chances of ever being a top star are sadly all but gone.
