10 Criminally Underrated Wresting Matches

3. The Rock vs Chris Benoit - WWE Championship (Fully Loaded 2000)

This was the leading match from the most underrated pay-per-view in WWE history. Fully Loaded 2000 was a fantastic event and this match stole the show. This was Benoit's first ascension to main event level and looked like he couldn't lose as Rocky's WWF Championship could change hands on a disqualification. The match itself was a pulsating affair that went through a few unexpected twists and turns. After a number of high spots, The Rock hit a spinebuster and The People's Elbow on Beniot but Shane McMahon, who was accompanying The Crippler to the ring distracted the referee. Rock brought a chair into the ring and tried to attack Benoit but dropped it. Shane brought another chair into the ring and hit the referee with it before Rocky applied The Cripler Crossface, forcing Benoit to tap. However, as the referee recovered, he disqualified Rock because he didn't see McMahon hitting him with the chair. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xz5063_the-rock-vs-chris-benoit-fully-loaded-2000-wwf-championship_sport This meant Benoit won the title but the WWF Commissioner Mick Foley came out and restarted the match. Rock and Benoit continued to battle each other until a Rock Bottom from the now challenger won the match and allowed Rock to regain the WWF Championship.
