10 Criminally Underrated Wrestler/Manager Combos

4. The Brain Busters/Bobby Heenan

Well, as promised, here he is.

Bobby Heenan could do it all. He was an eloquent talker, he could bump with the best of them and his colour commentary antics entertained millions. At his best as a ringside menace, 'The Brain' had André The Giant, Rick Rude and Paul Orndorff in his 'Heenan Family' stable. By 1988, he added two of the best workers in the biz.

Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard moved over from the NWA and instantly hit heel pay dirt by being aligned with Heenan as The Brain Busters. Everything worked, from the simple name WWF fans could hate on to the technical wizardry both had been known for as members of The Four Horsemen elsewhere. This was a match made in heaven.

It'd only last a year, granted, but that's why it's here. Not enough fans talk about how well Heenan, Blanchard and Anderson gelled. It was like Bobby was J.J Dillon 2.0 and the missing link The Horsemen had craved for years.
