10 Cringe-Worthy Interviews With The Undertaker

Although the Wyatt Family successfully kidnapped both The Undertaker and Kane before Survivor Series, the build-up to their Survivor Series match was given very little time. In fact, The Brothers of Destruction did not resurface until a couple of weeks prior to the event. The Wyatt Family was on a hot streak after Hell In A Cell, but past losses and 50/50 booking still lingered over them like a bad omen. More than anything, the Wyatts needed to look strong leaving Survivor Series, whether they won or not. The storyline needed all the help it could have before the big match.

So how would WWE promote the upcoming PPV as well as make Bray Wyatt & Co. look strong? Apparently, to WWE, the right idea seemed to be sending 'Taker to piledrive a turkey on Jimmy Fallon.

The entire bit made light of an iconic finishing maneuver by sending the message that even a guy in a turkey suit (Brad Maddox) could take the move and survive. This was the same move that defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship, and would be used to overcome the Wyatts. As a further insult, there was hardly any mention of the upcoming match. Having The Undertaker address his opponents on Jimmy Fallon surely would have gotten a few more people talking than taking out a turkey. Or at least, it would have had more people talking for the right reasons. And for the Wyatts, it would have been difficult to come off as a legitimate threat after wrestling a man whose last opponent was more ridiculous than the Gobbledy Gooker.
