10 Cringe-Worthy Interviews With The Undertaker

3. Mistaking Regis In A Hulk Hogan Tank-Top For The Actual Hulk Hogan – 1991

“Death is my business,” said The Undertaker during a 1991 Regis and Kathy Lee appearance. Any man with such a line should have been taken seriously, and for a moment, it seemed as though the brooding persona was going to be preserved during the segment. But within mere minutes, The Demon of Death Valley was treated like a fool.

Paul Bearer might have managed him, but ‘Taker wasn’t without a brain. He was an evil mortician, not a complete moron, which was often showcased during his red-hot program with Hulk Hogan in 1991. But the Regis and Kathy Lee segment may have left fans thinking otherwise.

Regis Philbin must have seen that The Undertaker responded to an urn and thought any ol' inanimate object would do, as, halfway into the appearance, Regis angered The Phenom by tossing a plush Hulk Hogan doll at him. As if that wasn’t enough, Regis revealed a Hulk Hogan tank-top underneath his dress shirt, which, for some reason, led to an attempted chase. One would have imagined The Deadman knew the difference between the actual Hulkster and a deeply unconvincing impostor, but apparently not. All the segment did was make fans question the legitimacy of his character.
