10 Crucial Booking Steps Needed To Save Hideo Itami’s WWE NXT Career

7. Book Him In A Main Roster Rivalry Against The Big Show

One of the strangest booking decisions of the year so far was to have Big Show win the second annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 31. There were many other wrestlers more deserving of that achievement, including Hideo Itami, who was instead unceremoniously eliminated by the Big Show. With WWE becoming increasingly interested in bringing up more NXT guys to the main roster, one storyline that could get a lot of mileage out of would be a revenge storyline between Itami and the Big Show. The entire premise around it would be that Itami would want to face Show since he robbed Itami of his 'WrestleMania moment'. Furthermore, it would be an ideal €˜David vs. Goliath€™ story, given the obvious size difference between the two athletes. As we have seen in the past, it's a dynamic that works every time. It's easy to get behind the underdog. Since Show isn€™t really doing anything important right now, this would be a great opportunity for him to use his size and reputation to help elevate a 'rookie' like Itami.
