10 Current Stars Who Should Have Been WWE Champion By Now
9. Kofi Kingston
There was a time when Kofi Kingston was supposed to be the future. Around 2009, there was a class of wrestlers like John Morrison, Drew McIntyre and Ted DiBiase that seemed to be the next wave of main eventers, and Kofi was among that class. After several inconsequential singles and tag title runs, Kofi was thrust into a main event calibre feud with none other than Randy Orton. He even had a career defining moment when he hit his signature Boom Drop off a guard rail in the crowd onto Orton, putting The Viper through a table in the process. This feud seemed to be the start of something major for Kofi Kingston, but it proved to be his undoing. During a match with Orton, Kofi was apparently supposed to take the punt as the finish of the match, but kept getting to his feet. Orton hit him with an RKO and yelled STUPID! STUPID! at Kingston before pinning him. The word is that this is the reason Kofis career has never risen any higher than his feud with Randy Orton, and if its true, its a real shame. WWE have been under heavy criticism this year for never having a black WWE Champion, and in Kofi Kingston they have someone with the look, athleticism and charisma to represent the company.
