10 Current Wrestlers Who Are Ridiculously Multi-Talented
9. Samoa Joe - Commentator / Voice Actor
Not every wrestler can make the move to commentary. Others, however, bring wit, intelligence, relatability and respectability to their work on commentary. Samoa Joe is one of those wrestlers.
After suffering an injury at the end of 2019, Joe was put onto colour commentary for Raw. He was a natural fit with the rest of the team and stayed behind the desk for several weeks for several weeks. After an unfortunate thirty-day wellness policy violation, Joe returned to Raw in April 2020 replacing Jerry Lawler, where he remains today.
The Samoan Submission Machine also has substantial experience in other athletic areas. He was a California state judo champion when he was a teenager and also an all-state football player. He still trains extensively in brazilian jiu-jitsu, judo, and muay thai.
Interestingly, he is also a skilled Polynesian dancer. His family formed a Polynesian dance team which Joe was part of; technically, the big man's first time on camera was with this team at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics opening ceremonies!
Joe is also an avid gamer. This, and his distinctive voice, has led to him being tapped to be the voice of King Shark in the upcoming Suicide Squad : Kill the Justice League game by Rockstar.
