It's no great surprise that the modern era - the only period in WWE's post-expansion history in which the company has treated women's wrestling with any long-term seriousness - should produce their greatest ever female wrestler. The only question is who among the current cast do you choose?

And, honestly, it's so difficult to separate Charlotte and Sasha Banks that we'll probably have to settle on a tie. They both helped take the female division to places it has never been over the last year-and-a-half with their incredible (albeit perhaps slightly too long) feud for the Raw Women's Championship.

Not only did they share one of Raw's best ever matches with a pulsating Falls Count Anywhere bout in November of last year, they also together became the first women to headline a WWE -pay-per-view at the previous month's Hell in a Cell.

While WWE itself seems to regard Charlotte as the linchpin of its division, Sasha is arguably a more accomplished performer in the ring, and considering that they broke new ground by each other's side it seems fitting that - for now - they share the honour of being the company's best ever.
