10 Current WWE Roster Members Who Are Beyond Saving

5. The Ascension

Konnor and Viktor have never recovered their NXT form on the main roster. This is partly WWE's own fault, because they instructed The Ascension to label themselves Road Warrior/Demolition/Powers Of Pain ripoffs from the get-go and had JBL call them out for being a second-rate tribute act on commentary.

Gee, wonder why that didn't work?

That all happened in 2014, and The Ascension have been toiling ever since. An alliance with Stardust was short-lived, and their on/off comedic routines as part of Breezango's "Fashion Files" failed to convince WWE's writers the team had a different side.

There's nothing WWE can do to resurrect The Ascension gimmick in 2018. It's a dead concept, one that makes both men look like a bad joke when their Illuminati-inspired menace is cut down by any serious team they come into contact with.

It's time for Konnor and Viktor to try something else.
