10 Current WWE Wrestlers Who Need New Finishing Moves

3. Apollo Crews

What is going on with Apollo Crews? Is it all too easy for him? Is he such a can't-miss prospect that maybe it is better if he, well, misses? He has the look, the agility, the smile (oh lord the smile) and the talent, but for some reason the perfect WWE professional wrestler/sports entertainer has become its most boring.

I'm not going to sit here and say that the relative ennui Crews inspired is all down to his finishing move, but sweet lord on high is it awkward. After initially using his Gorilla Press/Standing Moonsault combo in NXT, Crews inexplicably began using a Spin-Out Powerbomb as his finish.

Now, I guess there isn't anything explicitly wrong with the move. The problem is it looks awkward as all hell, and despite his power Crews seems to really struggle hitting the move. It doesn't feel like his finisher, either, more like a move he uses until he settles on a true finisher.

If WWE aren't going to allow Crews to hit all manner of Shooting Star Presses, how about a variation of Hirooki Goto's Shouten Kai?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
