10 Deluded Wrestling Shoot Interview Revelations That Will Melt Your Brain
3. Imagine The State Of That Match
Oh, Ryback. We knew you'd come.
Everything about the Big Guy is a throwback: his RVD-inspired gear, his Goldberg-inspired gimmick, his power-based repertoire, and, of course, his spouting of hysterically delusional bullsh*t on the shoot interview circuit. Mostly, this delusion is shaped by the old school era in which the worst offenders came up: ultra-competitive, paranoid and laced with drugs, this landscape hardly encouraged a rational mind.
Ryback, however, just happens to be a bit dense.
He claimed last year on his Conversations With The Big Guy podcast that Senior Director of Talent Relations Mark Carrano showed him an early version of the WrestleMania XXX card. "On it" was a morbidly hilarious would-be special attraction bout pitting Ryback against the Ultimate Warrior. Ryback was skeptical - not of his own fantasy narrative, but whether or not the Warrior was in decent wrestling shape. "I didn't know what kind of shape he was in, whether he could wrestle or not," Ryback continued.
It was the Warrior. Could he ever wrestle?
If this were true, the match was only ever going to manifest as a sub-one minute glorified squash. Why would Ryback broadcast his jobber perception to the entire world?
"I'm dumb as f*ck. I'm sorry."
