Kane was in the midst of a very serious pursuit for Triple H's World Heavyweight Championship when The Game decided to play dirty and bring up a number of issues from the Big Red Machine's past. Katie Vick was portrayed to be a woman that Kane was supposed to have been romantically involved with until he was present for her tragic death. All of this happened before his time in WWE began. As if one traumatic experience was enough, Triple H traumatised the WWE Universe when he accused Kane of sexually assaulting Katie Vick's dead body, even going so far as to don a Kane mask and reenact the scene for a shocked WWE Universe.
