7. The Revival

'Top Guys' don't often reach the summit in wrestling without taking a few shortcuts, but Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson revelled in circumventing the rules at every cost on their march through NXT to the main roster.

They'd instigate rivalries with sneak attacks, then win matches through a constant and committed dedication to cheating at all costs. Literally taking every accidental second offered to them by a distracted referee or frustrated opponent, The Revival had a knack for zeroing in on body parts or existing injuries via a robust dedication to bending the rules.

The peak of their wickedness came in their electric feud with #DIY. Having seemingly stretched their subterfuge to the limit in victorious programmes with Enzo and Cass and American Alpha, Dash and Dawson fancied themselves as doyens of the division after getting by Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa at August 2016's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 2.

Using and abusing their abilities to wear down Gargano's knee, the pair undeservedly claimed victory after locking on a reverse figure four leglock after Ciampa was illegally indisposed by seconds earlier.

Three months later, the rematch saw them both submit centre-ring, in a glorious act of comeuppance and contrition that carried the requisite gravitas and significance after months of their evil deeds.
