There can't be a list about women who have taken WWE to task without including Rena 'Sable' Lesnar. Making her first appearances for the promotion way back in 1996, Sable was introduced by Triple H, before being associated with her real-life husband at the time, Marc Mero. Now married to Brock Lesnar, Rena surprised many by launching a vicious tirade at the practices of the WWF in 1999. Filing a lawsuit, Sable claimed that she had been the victim of unsafe working conditions and sexual harassment. The suit topped at $110 million, but both parties managed to reach a settlement of terms outside of court in the late-Summer of 1999. A lot of fans were left scratching their heads by this news, given that the woman had posed for Playboy, and also agreed to walk around topless (covered up a little by paint) on WWF television. It reeked of trying to take her former employer to the cleaners, even more so when Sable would return in 2003 and become Vince McMahon's on-screen girlfriend. That's the kind of thing that only pro wrestling can throw up, someone suing another person, only to later work with them in such a role - effectively as a mistress - years later. What other former female employees can you think of who have criticised WWE for their treatment of women? What do you make of the entries on this list? Let us know down in the comments section below!
