10 Divas Who Accused WWE Of Sexism

3. AJ Lee

Long after the calendars have turned to 2016, wrestling fans will still remember the ballsy display of backbone shown by the now-departed AJ Lee in early-2015. Looking to snipe back at her boss, Stephanie McMahon for comments made on Twitter about being proud of being female, AJ surmised that Stephanie would do well to display that pride by booking the Diva division better. Needless to say, this one ruffled some feathers, and may have directly contributed to Lee waving goodbye to the WWE spotlight. Married to CM Punk, it seems fair to say that the happy couple share some similar personality traits, one of which seems to be a willingness to speak their minds. AJ deserves some credit for showing so much attitude, but Stephanie was supposedly livid about the jibe. Much like Paige, AJ did have a point with her comments. Rather than outwardly trying to portray an image of false strength for women everywhere, WWE should rectify their own mistakes and give the woman they hire some decent time to do their job, and do it well rather than being forced to sit on the sidelines and settle for little.
