10 Dumbest Reasons Wrestlers HATE Each Other For Real

4. Big Show & Great Khali

Wrestling's weird, and amazing, and cruel.

In 2022, Omos was towering above the rest as WWE's brand spanking new behemoth. There's typically always one at the go at any one time in the company thanks to Vince McMahon's lifelong policy of keeping one around, which is fundamentally stupid because a) a roster can go without the gimmick for a while whenever and b) there can't be at least two on the go. But that appeared to be why Braun Strowman was suddenly surplus, and then when he wasn't, Omos was. It was switched again around WrestleMania season when Brock Lesnar needed an opponent too.

The Big Show and The Great Khali were all too mindful of this during their lengthy shared spells with the company.

Per Chris Jericho in his third autobiography, this "Giant Heat" between two men who knew they might be fighting over one role eventually boiled over when Khali stole Show's spots once too often.

As he put it;

"We were in the dressing room after the match, and Show was still fuming, steam practically billowing out of his ears. When Khali came in a few minutes later, the sh*t was on...‘Hey, motherf*cker, why do you keep stealing my spots, huh? That’s total bullsh*t, and you need to stop it now!’...The two biggest men in WWE history stood face-to-face, and I’m not sure either of them knew what to do...A few seconds later, Show threw the first punch, which connected with a loud smack to Khali’s overdeveloped jaw. It rocked him backward, but he didn’t go down, and Khali landed a punch of his own. With the opening shots fired, the floodgates opened, and the two titans began swinging like Tiger Williams. I counted at least five more smacks and cracks as the blows connected with each other’s faces, shoulders, necks, and chests...The battle raged on until finally, Show took a wild swing and tripped over a chair, which caused him to crash onto the floor with Khali on top of him. The boys waded in at that point to pry them apart, and the fight was over. The brawl was fairly even, but Show still insists he lost because Khali landed on top."

Oddly enough, the mammoth scuffle soothed things somewhat. And much like behind-the-scenes, this was the case on camera too. The pair were around for another decade together, drifting in and out of retirement without undermining each other's aura.
