10 DVDs WWE Are Considering For 2017
A Stephanie McMahon book AND DVD? What a time to be alive...
Just last month, news broke of 21 DVDs WWE were considering from next year. Some of them were worthy projects (Black History in the WWE, The Anoa' Family Legacy, Rick Rude's Greatest Hits), some sounded terribly dull (Mark Henry, WWE Health and Fitness), and one sounded like a complete affront to humanity (The Sheamus Experience). We covered them all: you can read about them here.
A few days ago, WWE corporate released another survey for their 'Fan Council' in order to gauge opinion about another dectet of DVDs, asking participants which one they would most like to see released in 2017. There was 50 in the last poll, so that's a potential 60 DVDs in the next twelve months. Honestly, there's just no end to it.
So what can we expect from the company's home video department in the forthcoming year? There's something for everybody. Provided you're a McMahon fan.
10. Hardy Boyz (Match Compilation)
A very unusual choice given the brothers' current prominence in 'rival' promotion TNA, as any potential new Hardy Boyz DVD is likely to raise awareness of the competition.
It's rare for WWE to even acknowledge the existence of talent beyond the 'Universe's bubble, even if they are former stars. That said, any interest a new Hardy DVD provokes in TNA is likely to be minimal compared to amount WWE can capitalise on the sibling's current Orlando run.
The box-set may also precipitate a return to the company for the pair - at the very least Jeff, who recently made very public overtures about wishing to end his dwindling career at WrestleMania.
Hopefully the cover artist will do a better job with this one than their first DVD, Leap of Faith, whose layout rendered the title as 'Hard Boyz'. It's not easy to explain a video in your collection with that name.
