Lucha Underground developed something of a buzz in the mid-2010s when jaded WWE fans sought an alternative.

It was an alternative, all right; a cinematic supernatural lucha libre outfit that was also home to state-of-the-art lucha and one of the most frightening death matches ever worked, ultimately, it fell apart; this limited series and its reach for prestige felt rather less prestigious when it became too silly even for wrestling. It flew off the radar and into a self-indulgent triangle of sorts by 2018.

As part of which, Karrion Kross debuted under a different persona: The White Rabbit.

Fusing together Karrion's two favourite things - clocks and the motion picture 'The Matrix' - the White Rabbit was revealed to be the leader of the zany, druggy 'Rabbit Tribe' when he ordered Paul London to sacrifice Mascarita Sagrada. It was nonsense; a strange collection of ideas that never meshed. London's psychedelic cult leader clashed with Karrion's usual "intense ass-kicker" schtick under a different name. LU's swift demise meant that it never went anywhere, and its general decline in interest meant that it failed to make much of an impression.

The storytelling wasn't terrible in this context, and this sort of thing will always have its defenders, but then, so does the Fiend.
