10 Early Predictions For 2020 WWE Hall Of Fame Class
9. Cyndi Lauper
The Celebrity Wing of WWE's Hall of Fame is...varied.
Donald Trump, Mike Tyson, Drew Carey, and Snoop Dogg all are honoured, yet the likes of Lawrence Taylor and the aforementioned Andy Kaufman are overlooked.
The most glaring omission of all though is Cyndi Lauper. Heavily rumoured to be inducted a couple of years ago, Lauper remains on the outside looking in, whilst Kid Rock sits pride of place.
Simply put, without Lauper's involvement the WWE might not be the wrestling juggernaut we know it as today. Playing a significant role in the WWF/MTV 'Rock 'n' Wrestling Connection', Lauper helped usher the company into the mainstream via her involvement in the inaugural WrestleMania.
Managing Wendi Richter as she reclaimed the WWF Women's Championship in Madison Square Garden on 31st March 1985, Lauper (alongside numerous other celebrities) ensured the eyes of the world were on the event.
Some may dismiss the Celebrity Wing of WWE's Hall of Fame as tokenistic, but Lauper's star power unquestionably boosted the WWF's reputation and she should be recognised for her involvement.
