Another staple of Wrestle Kingdom at this point is the multi-team gauntlet for NJPW’s least important titles, the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship. This is well and truly the ‘get everyone on the card’ match, so expect anyone not involved anywhere else to turn up here.

Gang warfare is still the name of the game in NJPW, so this will see the factions of the promotion do battle for the bazillionth time. Bullet Club will be represented by Bad Luck Fale, Hangman Page and Chase Owens, while CHAOS will put forward the trio of YOSHI-HASHI, Toru Yano and Beretta. Zack Sabre Jr. and Killer Elite Squad will fight for Suzuki-gun, and Togi Makabe, Jeff Cobb and a returning Tomoaki Honma will be the ‘others’ team.

This would make it the most stacked gauntlet match in memory, further proof of the depth of NJPW’s roster. Much like the junior tag match, picking a winner here is utterly pointless. For the sake of the piece, let’s go with Suzuki-gun.
