The World Tag League represents the final tournament of the year for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and the last few years have seen fans predict a win for Goto and Ishii. The major stumbling block for the CHAOS duo has been that they have never actually teamed together in the tournament.

They will team together in the 2018 edition, but I do not believe that the tandem will win the whole thing. Why? Well, because they will be champions going into it. A title match at Wrestle Kingdom 13 will be assured for Goto and Ishii.

Guerrillas of Destiny have come so very close to winning the World Tag League on two occasions, only to fall at the final hurdle. There will be no stopping Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa in 2018, and victory will finally be theirs.

The Sons of Haku feel like a team who can dominate at the top of New Japan’s tag division, and both men have improved considerably over the last 18 months. Goto and Ishii (the latter especially) deserve showcase singles matches, but there simply isn’t space. If ever there was a show of how strong NJPW’s roster is, Tomohiro Ishii’s placement is it.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
