10 Early Reasons To Be Worried About WWE Royal Rumble 2023

5. An Influx Of NXT Talent

Per Fightful Select, WWE is considering moving a handful of NXT stars to the main roster; Von Wagner and Cameron Grimes are among the names mentioned as joining the depths of the Raw and SmackDown rosters.

That’s all well and good, so long as it stays that way. No more than two full-time call-ups.

NXT has a ludicrous roster right now, booming with talent that have the drive to carry the brand. For many of them, though, that’s where they’re best placed for the moment. Bron Breakker is a considerably great NXT Championship-level performer, but how would he fare on the blue brand against Braun Strowman? The same goes for Brutus and Julius Creed, for Cora Jade, for Carmelo Hayes. The list is truly endless.

It’s no secret how proud Triple H is of NXT. He helped build the brand up to what it is, after all. That’s why it should be in his best interests to protect the brand and its roster.

Why risk destroying the reputation of several NXT-bred stars? For all the good they’re doing in NXT, that rarely transpires over to the main roster. Even with Triple H now heading up creative on Raw and SmackDown, you can’t guarantee success for all of the names mentioned above. Expect to see one or two names pop up in the Rumble matches and pray for no more than that.
