Also called the leg-hook Saito suplex, a variation of the traditional Saito suplex pioneered by Masa Saito. During 1992 and 1993, The Heartbreak Kid was still ironing out the kinks in his new career as a singles wrestler, and had adopted the teardrop suplex as his finish.
It didn't have quite the drama of Sweet Chin Music, but the superkick had been a part of Michaels' arsenal since his tag team days in the Rockers with Marty Jannetty, and it wasn't until his character started to take off that he began to add the theatrics and the nickname.
