10 Early Wrestling Predictions For 2017

9. John Cena Will Face The Undertaker At WrestleMania 33

All storyline indications point to this tantalising possibility, which justifies Cena's recent losing streak.

If said streak is obviously a way to cast Cena as a redemptive figure en route to a record sixteenth world title, then a match with the Undertaker at WrestleMania represents a tantalising and logical diversion. Cena would have an in-built storyline motivation to challenge 'Taker - it would provide him with the best chance possible of reacquiring his form - and the loss he'd incur would imbue his march to the title with a further layer of dramatic tension.

Besides which, there aren't many dream matches left at WWE's disposal. Cena Vs. Undertaker is one of the few remaining capable of tapping into the pulse of the mainstream.

As to who wins...it would be a fantastic platform on which to execute the inconceivable - which, according to reports lighting up the internet this week, may not be such a pipe dream. 'Taker, stubbornly old school, wants to exit the business on his back, and is increasingly willing to lose. WWE, faced with dwindling business, are apparently showing a serious inclination towards a Cena heel turn. What better way to execute that than cheating 'Taker out of a Show of Shows victory?
