10 Early Wrestling Predictions For 2017
6. Eva Marie Will Work A Critically-Acclaimed Match
One suspects Eva Marie, like Roman Reigns before her, will emerge relatively unscathed from her Wellness Policy violation. Regardless of the recent emphasis on workrate, if Eva was a tenth as good as her peers, and not a hundredth, she'd have been pushed with even more conviction.
The inverse to Reigns, Eva is actually terrible - but that won't stop WWE from presenting her as a megastar and protecting her accordingly.
WWE has many methods to do just that. Matches featuring a near-octogenarian Vince McMahon, Floyd Mayweather, and hell, God, have been rendered very entertaining as a result of ringside extras and ultra-violent weaponry.
WWE aren't daft enough to allow Eva Marie anywhere near a ladder, or any other instrument with an inherent risk of grave danger, but they do have a man who is more than capable of disguising her many flaws at their disposal: Pat Patterson.
Patterson is an expert at laying out matches - so much so that he is entrusted with booking those almost entirely dependent on his brilliance. When Marie finally enters into a feature match on Pay Per View, he will be given ample time to mine a diamond from the unwieldy coal that is the Flame-Haired Femme Fatale.
