4. No Record For The New Day

The New Day are edging closer and closer to Demolition’s record-breaking 478-day reign as WWE Tag Team Champions. Though many predicted their time would end at Clash of Champions, they retained the belts through nefarious means, and were decisive in their repeat victory over The Club on Raw.

Many believe it’s time to switch the belts, however. The New Day’s act hasn’t jumped the shark yet, but they’ve been stagnant for months. Their position is the company hasn’t changed since WrestleMania, the promos are becoming repetitive, and there’s little left for them to do as champions.

If this week’s Raw is anything to go by, Sheamus and Cesaro are being groomed as their next opponents. Though their Best of Seven series ended in farce, they have great potential as a unit, and as two of Raw’s toughest superstars, they’ll surely put on a great match with whichever combo of Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston hits the ring at HIAC.

With all this in mind, the time is right to make the switch. Cesaro and Sheamus’ awkward alliance is going to be the division’s big focus for the next few months, and winning the Tag Team Titles would be the perfect catalyst to cement their union.
